Demands Support For Women In The Industry
The Nigeria Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture, NACCIMA, has urged the Federal Government to tackle the challenges in the country’s oil and gas sector.
The Organised Private Sector, OPS, group argued that the issues confronting the sector over the years remain intractable in spite of the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act, PIA.
It said the
development had shown that the PIA is not effective in resolving the issues of the oil sector.
The President General of NACCIMA, Mr John Udagbala, who made this know at the first quarter Executive and Council meeting in Abuja, stated that the council discussed the recent crisis occasioned by the importation of bad Premium Motor Spirit into the country, which he said, had negative consequences on the people and the economy.
The council noted with dismay that a major issue is the importation of petroleum Products and immediate steps must be taken to end importation of petroleum products.
He called for support for women entrepreneurs, adding that the organisation was taken steps to strengthen and support activities of NACCIMA Women Business Group.
