Big names in the nation’s broadcast industry including Frank Edoho of Who Wants to he a millionaire; Channels tv’s Sulai Alede; Charles Anazodo of Supersports and veteran sports presenter, Godwin Enakhena were all at the Radio Nigeria, Broadcasting House, Ikoyi Lagos for the 45th anniversary celebration of Metro FM.
They were all former employees of the station.
Metro FM 97.7 which is one of the 3 Radio Nigeria stations under Lagos Operations, is Nigeria’s first FM station.
The anniversary celebration was held over a period of time, involving the station’s veterans both current and former , coming at different times for live shows in the metro FM studio.
General Manager, Metro FM, Mrs. Ifeoma Okpala while commenting said “activities marking the 45th anniversary of the first FM station in the country, Metro FM came to the climax with the cutting of the anniversary cake adorned in Metro colour.
“Thanks to my supportive management and entire staff members: Oby Nwaoha, Abayomi Odeniran, Comfort Agbai, Fabian Anawo, Toun Atoyebi among others.
“Most especially, I thank the Director General of Radio , Dr. Mansur Liman , the Director Lagos Operations, Mrs. Owoyemi Bolanle ; DD Marketing Mr. Istifanus Baba; DD Finance , Mr. Chris Ukaegbu and DD News,Mr. Shaka Braimah.
