Saraki Mourns Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s Demise

Says The Alaafin Of Oyo Lived An Exemplary Life

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki has condoled the government and people of Oyo State over the death of their Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

Alaafin  Lamidi Adeyemi, the third from the Alowodu Ruling House, reportedly died in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti.

Aged 83, he was the longest reigning Alaafin ever,  ruling for 52 years.

Commenting on his Facebook page, Dr. Saraki prayed that God grants the people of Oyo the strength to overcome this difficult time. He said the Oba Adeyemi dedicated his life in serving his people.

According to Saraki, “After almost 52 years on the throne, our Royal Father ,Oba Lamidi Adeyemi ,the Alaafin of Oyo, has joined his ancestors.

“As we mourn the passing of His Royal Highness, we celebrate the fact that he lived a full and exemplary life that was dedicated to serving people.

I pray that the Almighty God grants the government and people of Oyo State strength at this difficult time”
