Jesus, Justice and Mercy

“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

Caecar Augustus vision for the Roman Empire was to build it on law and order but ended up collecting bribes and dealing unfairly with his subjects. He however succeeded to some extent. And gave his citizens Lustitia. A goddess most judicial systems refer to as “lady justice”.
What Augustus, or the rest of the world did not anticipate is how far a greater king would go to die for the people He loves. In Micah’s days, the people lapsed again into a culture of lies, wickedness and violence similar to our world today.

Beloved of God, I pray that Nigeria and our families get a Servant King in Jesus who came to personify the kind of justice that the hurting, the lowly and the forgotten long for.
May this expected era come in the freedom of mercy, goodness, and spirit of Christ.
May His mercy encompass us.
May His justice and Peace rule over our hearts and land in Jesus name. Amen
