FRCN Holds News Summit To Discuss Nigeria’s Past Election

As the tribunal continues holding sessions to deal with many litigations against Nigeria’s recent presidential election, the country’s public sector radio outfit known as the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has assembled the Managers of News of over 40 of it’s FM stations nationwide and Central Management Committee members, to discuss the coverage of the poll by their reporters.

The two days heads of News Summit opened on Wednesday in Bauchi state.

Declaring it open ,the Director General of the FRCN, Dr. Mansur Liman charged editors to be abreast of information and ensure standards.

Upholding the principles of Journalism is also among the topics of discussion, with the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State, Professor Umar Pate as one of the lectures.

Mrs Maria Odeh ,a former Acting Director-General of FRCN in her lecture urged broadcast media to always be at the forefront in promoting peace whenever there is conflict in the society, for actualization of national integration.

The Director Lagos Operations, of FRCN,Mrs Bolanle Owoyemi; General Manager Metro FM , Mrs Ifeoma Okpala and her Bond FM counterpart, Princess Adenike Adegoke are among the participants from Lagos.
