Rotary club to pay WAEC fees for 20 students in Anambra

Mr Alex Arinze, the newly-elected President of Rotary Club of Awka-Smithtown in Anambra, has highlighted some of the projects plan for Rotary Year 2024/2025.

According to him, some of the projects include paying WAEC fees for 20 students, donation of mosquito nets and drugs at primary healthcare centres and providing boreholes in rural communities among others.

Speaking during his investiture/installation ceremony as the 9th President of the Rotary Club on Sunday, Arinze said there was the need to cater to the needy in the communities to give them a sense of belonging.

He also urged well-meaning Nigerians to expand their humanitarian efforts to improve lives and improve the nation.

“Thank you for the opportunity to see and contribute in achieving the objectives of the Rotary club. We will continue to be resilient in our humanitarian duties.

“We cannot do it alone. Therefore, we appeal to well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to support our humanitarian project for the betterment of the country, ” he said.

Meanwhile, the Outgone President, Mr Valentine Okaudo, in his valedictory speech, outlined his performance while in office and thanked members for their support during his tenure.
