CSO Mekaowulu begs youths to shelve protest

Says Tinubu inherited bad economy, not cause of hardship

Nigerian traders ,youths and the masses at large have been urged not to go ahead with the proposed national Protest on August 1st.

A market leader, High Chief Chuka Christian Mekaowulu, who is the Chief Security Officer, (CSO), Association of Progressive Traders (APT) in the Trade Fair complex, Lagos, made the appeal in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

High Chief Christian said there is no gain in shutting down the country in the name of protest , when the government is already doing everything possible to fix the identified issues people are complaining about.

“I just want to advise Nigerian youths not to go to protest because there is no gain in it. Nigeria is having problem already. We believe with time everything will be solved”, said Mekaowulu

According to APT CSO, the best thing that Nigerians should do is to give their total support to President Bola Tinubu and his leadership team, adding that the government needs time to solve the problems in the country.

Mekaowulu noted that ordinarily there is nothing wrong in people embarking on a peaceful protest but the concern is that such could be hijacked by bad people leading to violence.

“What we need now is to give Mr President and his Ministers time to resolve the issues. We meaningful Nigerians may decide to protest because of hardship or bad governance as they case may be, but some people may hijack it and take it to another dimension. I could remember what happened during the ENDSARS protest. They started destroying government properties and even fellow business men’s properties.

“So, I plead to my fellow youths to calm down. I strongly believe with time everything will normalize with the help of government and the Almighty God”.

High Chief Mekaowulu argued that the challenges facing the nation were not created by President Tinubu , but the product of policies by previous administrations ,right from Jonathan to Buhari’s regimes.

He pledged his utmost loyalty to the government in Lagos State and President Tinubu.
