RCCG to distribute food items to 4,000 persons in flagship crusade

The Presiding Pastor, Rose of Sharon Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Ikeja, Pastor Emeka Obiagwu on Tuesday said that, no fewer than 4,000 persons would be given food items by the Church at its flagship crusade, tagged Light Up Ikeja 2024.

Obiagwu, said this at a Press Conference held at the church, to inform the public to attend the crusade.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the crusade with the theme “Looking Back and Leaping Forward” will be held Nov. 23 at the Police College Ikeja Lagos.

It reports that the annual interdenominational crusade and humanitarian service that would feature renowned Ministers such as the Pastor of the Living Faith Foundation Kaduna, Joe Olaiya, Evan. Femi Okunuga and Evan. Abimbola Praiseway, would foster hope in the people.

It is part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility to its host community.

It aimed to reach out to people with the word of God and to offer items such rice packs, noodles, beverages and toiletries to aid people sustain the economic challenges and gain salvation.

Speaking at the event, Obiagwu, said that, the Church has invited Churches and individuals in Ikeja and environs, to attend the event and be blessed.

The pastor said that, the crusade, formally known as “Ikeja for Christ Crusade” was first held in Dec. 2021 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the parish.

“The Church in 2021 renovated the Ikeja High School Science laboratory, offer financial support to 20 Small Scale business owners within the Church community and the procurement of equipment worth ₦2 million for artisans.

“In line with the objectives of the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, this parish is inclined to improving lives of people within the community to make a better society and reduce crime.

“Our vocational school aim at empowering people with marketable skills is a subsidiary setting that train people free with view to making them financially independent.

“This year is not different from the good works but has to focus on impacting the general public spiritually and materially,”he said.

Also an associate pastor of the Church, pastor Tunde Fowler, said that, the present economic strain on families, the crusade provided the Church with yet another opportunity to spread the message of hope embodied in Jesus Christ and the compassion He exemplifies.

Fowler said that through the provision of welfare package for a minimum of 4,000 attendees especially women the church belief the culture would be adopted by other religious and the secular society to ease uncertainties people were contending with.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) on October tasked churches to materially impact their host communities, as part of evangelism.
