Nigerian youths have been asked to unite for peace and work hard to develop the country.
The Co-Chairman, Christian Youth International Peace (YCP) Conference Planning Committee, Rev. Femi Ibikunle, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He stated that the current economic challenges were temporary and by being united ,the youths could change the narrative and set the country on a development trajectory.
The annual International Peace Conference holds on Nov. 14 to Nov. 16. at the Academic Arcades, Agidingbi, Ikeja Lagos.
The aim is to redirect youths’ perspectives from organised crime and civil unrest to fostering unity, national interest and one voice agenda on national issues.
Ibikunle, an Executive of the Christian Youth in Politics (CYP) organisers of the forthcoming conference, said youths should proffer solutions to assist in the development of the country rather than indulge in unpatriotic and questionable stance to the national question.
He described youths as agents of change, charged youths to employ their mobile edge to galvanised positive change agenda for the country.
According to him the planning committee has assembled influential voices, thought leaders, and passionate individuals committed to fostering global peace and empowerment as resource persons for the conference.
“This conference is more than just an event – it’s a call to action to salvage our society and sustain humanity.
“It will inspire dialogue and collaboration among Christian youth, academia, and global peace advocates.
“Explore innovative solutions for conflict resolution and peace-building
celebrate academic excellence and philanthropic efforts.
“Empower the next generation of leaders with skills, resources, and networking opportunities to impact the society,” he said.
He added that there would be panel discussions on peace-building and conflict resolution, presentations on Christian youth empowerment and interface with global leaders.
