Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Hon. Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State has appealed to residents to give the government their maximum support as it works hard to make the city cleaner, safer and healthier to live in.

He declared that “Lagos is not a jungle.

“With such numbers, challenges in security, housing, and the environment are inevitable. But under the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration, these issues are being addressed head-on, guided by the THEMES+ Agenda,” said Wahab in a Facebook post.

According to the commissioner, this vibrant city spans roughly 1,171.28 km², housing over 23 million people—a bustling hub where around 10% of Nigeria’s population calls home.

“The Sanwo-Olu led administration is working tirelessly to create a Lagos that is safe, clean, and healthy, a city that thrives despite its density and demands,” he added.

” From initiatives focused on sustainable infrastructure to projects aiming to reduce pollution and improve urban safety, there’s a determined effort to enhance the quality of life for all.

“We call on the public to join hands with the administration in this journey. Together, let’s support the drive towards a better Lagos—one where every resident and visitor feels secure, uplifted, and inspired by the city’s resilience and growth.”
