“From the place of His dwelling, He looks on all the inhabitants of the earth.” Psalm 33:14.
The concept of the “big brother” was derived from a famous book by George Orwell, “1984” written in the early 60s. In that imaginary world, all aspects of life are under surveillance. In the UK alone, it is estimated that there are over 40,000 CCTV cameras at different locations.
Psalm 33 tells us that God is watching from on high. He sees not just images and activities but thoughts and motives. The Psalmist affirms that “The eyes of the Lord is upon those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy…..He is our help and our shield”.
The eyes of the Lord may be fearsome, but if we trust in Him, we shall rejoice.
Beloved of God, I pray that as we keep our eyes on the Lord today, may we remember that He never takes His eyes off us.
May He show us mercy from on high.
God’s eye is upon us and we can not fail today.
Because He oversees our affairs, no evil will come near our dwelling places.
Hallelujah, we are safe in His pavilion. Amen
