All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” 1 Kings 19:5.
Many of us sometimes need to be off our regular routine. Jezebel’s threat to Elijah after the battle of mount Carmel was all he needed to rethink his crowded life style. Jezebel sent word that she will capture and kill him, but he despaired longing to die. It was at this time that he fell asleep, visited by an angel, who refreshed him and he was able to continue his journey.
Beloved of God, I pray Lord, that we need to relax when the journey of life seems long and when certainty is unknown.
We need to slow down, receive sustainance and press on.
Like Elijah, we need to be refreshed too, we need to get up and continue with the journey of life.
Do not allow yesterday’s discouragement stop today’s optimism.
You will get to your destination.
The plans of the “Ahabs and Jezebels” of this world will not stop you.
Like in the case of Elijah, you will be touched by an angel and the answer will come in Jesus name. Amen
