Information at our disposal has it that the Federal Government of Nigeria has slammed 23 count charges on Peter Nwachukwu , for his alleged involvement in the death of his wife, popular gospel performer Osinachi.
Osinachi came into powerful limelight with the release of their hit song titled “Ekwueme”.
She died on April 8 after Mr. Nwachukwu reportedly assaulted her.
The Attorney-General of the Federation charged him under section 104 and 379 of the Administration of
Criminal Justice Act,2015.
The defendant was charged with culpable homicide, which is punishable by death under section 221 of the Penal Code.
The case was filed at the High Court of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence section of the Department of Public Prosecution of the Ministry of Justice ,Yewande Gbola-Awopetun.
Osinachi ,42 died after spending days at an Abuja hospital.
Her husband who is aged 56, was subsequently arrested by the police after friends and colleagues of the deceased singer accused him of constantly assaulting her.
